Warmer temperatures are definitely expected tomorrow for the 42nd Annual Bike Ride to Rippey (BRR) event.

There are quite a few food options available for the hundreds of bicyclists and other visitors to enjoy when they arrive in the small town of Rippey on Saturday. The Rippey Lions Club will be serving their roast beef sundaes, chili, desserts and beverages from the community room at 11am. Also at 11am, the United Methodist Church will once again serve their baked potato bar and pies.

Mayor Dan Brubaker says new this year will be a food truck on Main Street, plus an outside organization is sponsoring the beer tent this year with all proceeds to go to the new fire station conversion project at the former gymnasium. There will also be a deejay providing musical entertainment. Brubaker hopes that with the warmer weather, lots of people will come out for the event.

“Being that it’s going to warm up it should be a good ride. A lot of reasons to go out because you’ve been caged up in the house with this weather. You don’t have to run all over town to find a beer and a food. So I think it’ll be a good event.”

The National Weather Service is predicting overcast skies on Saturday with a daytime high in the mid-40s. The ride will start at 10am from downtown Perry.
