The 2018 BRR Ride

After a week of arctic-like temperatures, the weather is promising to be much warmer for a winter tradition tomorrow: the 42nd annual Bike Ride to Rippey, or BRR Ride.

Chamber of Commerce Director Lynsi Pasutti says she’s happy the weather will be cooperating to make it a fun ride for everyone, and she’s hopeful the forecast will encourage more riders to participate. Pasutti adds, she’s been pleased with the cooperation between all the Chamber businesses to get the BRR Ride ready this year. “We’re just really excited to have this day finally right around the corner, tomorrow. A lot of preparation has gone into the event and trying to get some of our local businesses more engaged with the event to kind of really say, ‘Look, we’ve got hundreds, maybe thousands of people coming into town. How can we take advantage of that and really celebrate this great tradition that we have here in Perry?’ And so that’s been exciting to see people step up and want to come to the hotel in the morning, open up early, things like that. So that’s very exciting.”

Pasutti reminds people they can still register for the event right up until the ride starts. Cost is $35 if you sign up today, or $40 tomorrow. The schedule for the weekend includes: music from Stranger Than Fiction from 7-10 p.m. tonight at La Poste, with a pasta bar provided by Harvey’s at Hotel Pattee; registration and the Lions Club breakfast tomorrow at Hotel Pattee starting at 7:30 a.m.; a Zumba/STRONG warm-up at 9:30; the ride itself starting at 10 a.m.; and the after party concert featuring Lil Red and the Medicated Moose Band from 2-6 p.m. The concerts are free with BRR registration, or $10 for everyone else.
